Project Description:
The Shawnee Elementary School, formerly Paxinosa, will undergo a complete renovation that will relocate the central office and main entry to the corner of the building site, thus improving visibility, access and security. The 1970’s original open concept ‘pods’ will be reconfigured into standard classrooms along with a new expanded library. Four new additions will add a new central office, 12 new classrooms with individual toilets, a new cafeteria & kitchen. Upon its completion the school will support up to 1,000 students.

Although not officially a LEED Certified building, the building will be provided air-conditioning and other “green’ Building features that will lower operating costs and follow the same guidelines. The District elected to follow the recommendations of the Design Team and implement a Construction Waste management Plan. Therefore, all construction debris and waste will be separated and collected by a LEED certified waste contractor.
