Project Description:
Architecture FURST teamed with D’Huy Engineering in the design and construction of a new stadium and playing field for the District. Work began the week after the last football game and continued through the winter as the District required the facility to be ready for the next season. The project included the removal of the old wooden bleachers and complete reconstruction of the playing field and running track surface. New steel bleachers, press box, lighting and sound system were designed to seat in excess of 4,000 fans. The bleachers were constructed in a manner that permitted field equipment storage under their entire length. A 6 lane running track was constructed in a manner to allow an all-weather surface to be installed at a later date. Also constructed were new entry gates that gave the complex a new focal point when entering the stadium.
